The Olympic Melody to the Motherland concert, sponsored by Bank of China for the first anniversary of the Beijing Olympic Games, was held in the Beijing Olympic Forest Park on August 6, 2009. The concert was attended by officials including Liu Qi, Member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Beijing Municipal CPC Committee, and President of Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games(BOCOG), Liu Peng, Minister of the General Administration of Sports, President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, BOCOG Executive President, Guo Jinlong, Deputy Secretary of the Beijing Municipal CPC Committee, Mayor of Beijing and BOCOG Executive President, and Wang Yongli, Vice President of Bank of China as well as more than 5,000 guests from home and abroad and Olympic volunteers.
The concert is divided into four chapters: Dream of the Nation, Undertaking of the People, Color of the World, and Harmony of the Golden Age. Stars including Jackie Chan, Emil Chou, Han Hong, Tan Jing, Wang Feng and Zhang Liangying delivered a great performance to the audience by presenting the Olympic songs differently. The unsung heroes, volunteers and other staff, were introduced to the audience during the concert, corresponding to the documentary on the giant screen and demonstrating the theme of the concert.
This Bank of China-sponsored concert got a favorable reception from the audience. The large and exciting water-curtain performance brought the heated atmosphere to a climax, giving the audience a completely fresh impression.
As the sole banking partner of the Beijing Olympic Games, Bank of China provided financial service for the Games and successfully completed all assigned service tasks, realizing the goal of "no complaint and no error". The staff of Bank of China who served the Olympic Games also presented at the concert to commemorate the first anniversary of the Beijing Olympic Games and wish China a better future.
