"2009 Golden Bee CSR China Honor Roll", sponsored by China WTO Tribune – a monthly magazine supervised by the Ministry of Commerce, was unveiled in Beijing. Bank of China became the only financial institution to win the "Golden Bee Leading Enterprise Award" for its outstanding CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) performance.
The "Golden Bee CSR China Honor Roll" is released annually and this is the third time. By promoting and encouraging enterprises with exemplary CSR practices, this event aims to establish a market mechanism for responsible consumption and investment, and to create a sound environment that encourages enterprises to fulfill their social responsibilities.
It is reported that the event has invited worldwide well-known CSR experts from CSR Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, International Research Center for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development of Peking University, GoldenBee (Beijing) Management Consulting Co., Ltd., and Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Ltd., to make full and fair evaluation on all the materials submitted by over 400 corporate candidates.
Unanimously recognized by experts for its excellent CSR performance, Bank of China was the only financial institution to win the Golden Bee Leading Enterprise Award. Other Chinese and foreign-funded companies including the China Resources Group, Huadian Group, Intel and Peugeot Citroen were also awarded this honor.
