On November 28, 2010, the launching ceremony of the "2010 Public Education Service Day of China's Banking Sector" was held in Beijing. The event was hosted by the Public Education Service Center of China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) and sponsored by the China Banking Association. Responsible persons from the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, the People's Bank of China, China Securities Regulatory Commission, CBRC, China Insurance Regulatory Commission, China Consumers' Association and officials from the Beijing Municipal Government attended the ceremony. Wang Huaqing, a member of the Chinese Communist Party Committee and the Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of CBRC, delivered a speech. Through various means, the event is designed to popularize banking and financial knowledge.

During the ceremony, the representative from China Banking Association declared the Banking Public Education Service Commitment, and the representative with Bank of China delivered a speech on behalf of the nationwide banks. On the site, the "lecturers of banking public education service" were granted with ribbons.
According to official source, with the theme of "Financial Harmony, Better Life", the event is aimed to spread financial knowledge, improve the risk identification and prevention capability of the public, intensify the protection of financial consumers and promote the sound and orderly development of the banking sector as well as the social stability. After the ceremony, various efforts will be made by the banking and financial institutions across China to promote the public financial knowledge.
